BESTSPEC is a new company based in Montreal, Canada founded in November of 2009. BESTSPEC’s mission is to integrate robotics into the inspection and maintenance of in service wind turbine structures.

BESTSPEC aims to offer innovative, efficient and safer solutions for the inspection of wind turbine blades.

We are currently in the prototype phase for a robotic inspection tool capable of photographing and locating damage sites on a blade.  This tool will have superior time and cost efficiency when compared to a specialized human technician.

The product is useful to detect damage on the blade from bird strikes, fallen ice, erosion and lightning. By implementing this product as part of a regular maintenance program, the risk of catastrophic failure due to undetected damage will be largely reduced.
